I didn't include Democratic voters in that group.

You sometimes have some trouble with precision.

I suspect way too many Democratic voters are still voting for John F. Kennedy and the party of farmers and laborers.

On the other hand, I readily include many Democratic political leaders, including Ted Kennedy, Kerry, and Hillary Clinton among many others. In the House, a significant number of Democratic members are part of the "Progressive Caucus," which is socialist by any definition of the term, and proudly so, although only one member has the balls to say so in so many words.

George Soros, Moveon.org, and its many affiliates are part of the Left, and are a problem due to their heavy influence on the Democratic Party.

A.N.S.W.E.R. and similar groups are outright anti-American, but as yet, not that influential except in its own circles.

The leftist influence on our academic community is legion. That idiot high school teacher is back on the job, no worse for wear, after teaching his students utter crap. I can think of any number of politically-incorrect positions, no more or less accurate, that he could have taken that would have had the same educational community flaying him alive.

You can get snotty about McCarthy--the man was an idiot, and most of his lists came to nothing--but at the time, there was a great deal of organized Soviet influence in America. Look up the VENONA project some time. The history of McCarthy has been not-too-subtly rewritten to imply that there never was a communist threat at all.

Maybe you can't make the abstract leap from communism to Islamic fascism, since you seem to think I'm obsessed with the Soviets, but the response of the usual useful idiots out there is, today, almost exactly the same to an external threat. I'm talking about a proven pattern of behavior that has moved seamlessly from one threat to another with no perceivable changes in policies or attitudes.

And, as an aside on your "Hollywood Jews" comment: maybe you haven't been paying attention recently, but you might want to check on which side is harboring the most anti-Semitic attitudes today. It isn't right-wing marchers kissing the hind end of the Palestinian terrorists and Islamic radicals in the Middle East.
