so leftism is naturally the target.
Your claim that leftists don't exist is delusional. I don't know if your new rhetoric is the "new leftism" which claims to be party-free, grass-roots or the voice of the people, whatever it is, it's recycled communist spin.
The losing left has decided to trash the "old style" democrat name and are loosely known by BDS - their opposition to Bush.
The fact that these folks all hold Democratic voting registration is not lost on me.
By trying to generate a universal hatred of Bush, a rewriting of history and a mischaracterization of the foreign policy that advocates freedom, the "new left" is a dangerous breed of neo-Bolsheviks whose opposition to capitalism and democracy is quite apparent. Their uniform desire to increase taxes, soak the rich, neuter the military, is age-old leftism complete with government central-statism/ controller of the masses as espoused recently in a post by Publius.
No leftists? No left?
Your "non-denominational" politics is neo-Bolshevism by any other name. ANd Tom is right - that IS something to be feared and worked against.
