When you are stopped at a traffic light the kid in the Mustang in the next lane doesn't bother to rev his motor.

Also, there was a book a short time back titled "Winning through Intimidation," (which sounds like something you would like) that makes the same point..............both are found pictured in the dictionary under "credible."
