I am a Christian that does not have a problem with this fictional movie (That is what the author, Dan Brown, called it). It is a story about a secret behind Jesus has been hidden for centuries, and that secret being that Jesus was married and had I child.
Actually, I don’t really have a problem with that. Part of God came to Earth as Jesus to experience what it was like to be human, and to bridge the gap between him an humanity (Without getting into a sermon, basically under the rules of the Old Testament, no one was getting into heaven because no one was sinless. So he created this new covenant where all you do is admit you are a sinner and believe in him, and you are in)
Part of being human is getting married, having kids and raising a family. If he really wanted to experience being human, I would think he would do this as well.
So if there is some truth, why hide it? Perhaps it has to do with sex (A perfectly natural thing that God has no problem with between married couples). If I remember my history sex became a dirty word during Queen Victoria’s reign.
Or Perhaps it has to do with protecting Jesus descendants, for they would be in danger.
So, if there is some truth in this, by all mean get it out in the open.
I know several other Christian who feel the same way. Our Methodist Church is very open minded (We don’t have a problem with evolution and other scientific stuff.)
