When he came out with "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue", it was a call to arms and the soldiers in Afganistan loved it. And I mean the song is GOOD, it's inspiring. But coming from a country boy born in 1961 (who missed Vietnam and is now too old...and rich...to go to war), it can be very inflammatory and justifies us lashing out at innocent civilians.
I have mixed emotions watching the video....from pride to abject horror....because "raining down on them like the Fourth of July" isn't exactly what was needed in Iraq. If war is justified, YES.
If not, then this illustrates where we are wrong in our thinking
And that's painfully obvious now, considering we are creating more enemies with our firepower.
