Red Dwarfs
Wouldn’t one Red Dwarf be enough? If you could move a planet close enough to it to keep it into the habitable zone, keeping it from getting tidal lock wouldn’t be a problem. But beware of flair Red Dwarfs, unless you had some kind of planet wide shielding, or knew how to take the flair out of a flaring Red Dwarf.
If habitable planets around Red Dwarfs are possible, that may be one way to go for a space faring civilization. Those things will burn between tens of billions up to trillions of years and out number all other stars in the galaxy.
