Kyoto Treaty might cost more than Iraq war. The world already has spent about 200 billion, and btw haven't done anything to lower CO2 emission. For instance it can't be claimed that say 1 billion tons of CO2 has been prevented from entering the atmosphere by countries that have signed the treaty.
Yet all the nuclear reactors built and operating in the world for decades of time [which were not built to reduce CO2 {because nobody cared about this} they were built as clean and economic way to generate electricity] have resulted in effectively removing probably around 40 billion tons- or equal to TOTAL amount of all US transportation emission of CO2 for last 20 years.
The Kyoto Treaty will probably end up costing over 1/2 trillion dollars and all this wasted effort will probably continue to failed to prevent even 1 billion tons of CO2 from entering the atmosphere, probably the net result of Kyoto will it actually adds CO2 to atmosphere, and lots of politicans will be involved in the corruption it doubtively generates, and some these will caught in various political scandals having to do with it.
Of course this is assuming the Kyoto Treaty is abandoned in about 2 or 3 years and Europe and rest of them are going to continue to not be really serious about following the treaty. If they are completely moronic it could cost more than a trillion dollars- still not have any significant affect on reducing CO2 [which pretty pointless even if the programs they did were effective].
