Especially considering what some directors had planned for the character. Clark should always be the boy from Kansas, and attempts to bring him into the modern "angst-ridden hero" gimmick have, fortunately, failed. As he says in "Lois and Clark," "Superman is what I do. Clark Kent is who I am." Would like to have seen something a bit more original for the plot, though. Basically rehashed the first movie's premise.
