Grabbing at straws.
Was it the Fifties?
A natural place to be after two world wars, home with the wife and kids.

Well, "family values" certainly didn't take a back seat this past election, but "shock and awe" and "torture" certainly did. Somehow gay sex and abortion won out over those trivial pursuits.
Gotta love those holier than thou Christians.
