The window is closing and the denialists are still having their jerk-off fest. The time to start a major conversion from fossil fuels was at least a decade ago. It's clear 2008 is the soonest (hopefully) the process will even begin in earnest! According to many scientists we have 40 years before we will reach the critical point of no return. We can do this in 20 years if we make it a national priorty now!!!!!!!! American ingenuity can lead the way in producing new clean energy sources, and profit from it by supply the new techonolgies to existing and emerging markets. This is a clear cut example of the need for legislation designed to mobilize market forces to transform our oil based economy.
