The Continents where is different positions back then, as were the oceans. I think ocean currents play a big part in our climate. They act like a huge heat pump. As the contents move around, they change the ocean currents and change the climate.
You are correct, during the age of the dinosaurs, the ice caps vanish and the oceans boiled around the equator. Sea-level was much higher than it is today.
Then we had the ice ages and the sea level dropped far lower than it is today.
The Earth’s climate is always changing because the Earth is in constant change. How much impact are humans having on this change is the big question, and one we need to find out the truth. Unfortunately, with the politics involved, the quest for truth gets over looked as each side is more concerned about winning the big political game.
We need to let science figure it out and leave out the politics.
