Sources of funding? Good question... but they must be out there, and not just the balance left in his primary campaign's checkbook.

His decision to run as an independent if he lost the primary had a great deal of forethought -- thus, probably, some backing. Did you notice, he was able to turn in petitions with a sufficient number of signatures the following day?
