I don't think the rover designers ever gave much serious thought
to their little robot geologists having to actually go into any big
craters, plus the ability to scale crater walls would have added
a degree of cost that would not have been allowed.
I get the feeling if Oppy goes in there, it ain't coming out.
Which would be poetic in a way, as it landed in a small crater and may
end its days in a much bigger one.
