Your silly-in-the-extreme example is about as valid as if I were to say "Gee, if Stalin had caught a cold in 1933, he would have made different decisions and the USSR would have voluntarily renounced communism, China would have followed, then Castro, they would have been growing tulips in Afghanistan now instead of opium poppies, Saddam Hussein would have realized the error of his ways and gone to Hollywood to make B-movies and maybe make a run for Governor, the world would have abandoned it's warlike ways and solved poverty and hunger, and vast energy reserves would have been made aailable from some new discovery, and we would have colonies on Mars and Europa."
