You will note that the concept "withdrawal from Iraq will end the problem" is itself a speculation of an alternative reality.
Contempt for this kind of analysis does, however, mask the fact that the Democrats and their allies have absolutely no useful solutions for these problems, any more than they did for our conflicts during the Cold War.
