The human eye is basically fixed. It has no 'zoom'. Every eye by design has a certain resolving power and that power can be degraded with defects, and those defects partially eliminated by corrective optics and this speculative idea simply increase that resolving power beyond the baseline. This isn't AO to combat atomspheric issues, this is AO to make the most of the organic 'ccd' that we have.
With instruments.....you want more resolving power...you want more 'zoom'....build more zoom. Build a HiRISE not a MOC. Build a MastCam not a Pancam....build a higher res CCD, but a bigger piece of glass on the front.I can't see the relevance to what you linked to - science instruments are not human eyes. Maybe I'm missing something here, but the analogy between human eyes and electronic cameras doesn't seem to carry though to what those links talk about in any way.
