I thought you were talking about deploying this technology on the instruments.....not on the scientists looking at data from them.
To be honest, i would imagine that most scientists would rather stick to 'what they know' with their own eyes, that back catalogue of things they've seen 'with their own eyes' is probably best retained. Interesting stuff, no doubt, but I can't imagine it being usefull.
