Some answers are a little too simple

There's freedom and then there's freedom.

By some measures, Iraqis are the freest people on Earth. In addition to the paper freedoms guaranteed by their constitution, Iraqis are free to be kidnapped and either held for ransom or beheaded. Iraqis are free to be blown up while shopping, or going to work or school. In fact, the sky's the limit for that kind of freedom...only all your body parts don't make it into the sky simultaneously, but they certainly soar freely through the sky. An Iraqi is free to enjoy a bullet through the brain for holding to the wrong religious sect. An Iraqi is free to constantly look over his shoulder for another sect's militia. An Iraqi is free to drive anywhere in the country and run an entertaining gantlet of ambushes and booby traps. Let's see Disneyworld top that for vacation fun! An Iraqi is free to watch TV and surf the Net to his heart's content, during the hours when the power's on. Many Iraqis are still freely enjoying a wide selection of gourmet MREs and sacks of humanitarian aid food. Nearly half of all Iraqis are enjoying the freedom of having lots of time on their hands, what with the unemployment rate and all. Most Iraqi families are free of at least one annoying family member killed in the fighting, in many cases more.

And gosh, nothing maximizes freedom like a civil war. It's all about each side trying to kill the other side to be free of them--freedom on a wholesale basis!

Iraqis are free of Saddam Hussein, for sure. Now Iraqis are free to be their own Mini-Saddams...every man a bloodthirsty butcher in his own little domain.

Ahh, yes, Iraq, land of freedom and opportunity. We have much to be proud of there!
