Why?
Many of us who were more active at one time have spoken up repeatedly about the mood and level, or more correctly, lack of debate here..
And it got us bumpkiss, so we went elsewhere, or just STFU.
Life is short, work, other projects, limited time online, all of which takes up what time we have. Not to mention the headache you get when you beat your head against the wall long enough. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I simply don’t have any desire to listen to a constant screaming match. As Yeti said, to paraphrase, People here talk around, over, through and past each other, they don’t listen enough, instead relying on links to blogs/articles/commentary that supports their position or simply doing their best to outshout the opposition.
Somewhere in the Community or Offtopic back pages there is a post “Quit Screaming In My Ear” one of my Simi-regular Email columns I shared here.
I have work to be done, writing that demands a great deal of my time and I share the Net connection in the evenings. What time I have is better spent doing what needs to be done rather than futilely trading posts with someone who isn’t listening.
