re: Eee yahhhh

I know about generators and electronics, though my experience was a lot less costly than yours - a bread maker that died immediately upon connection.

A good line filter should smooth out most of the problems, or run your computer through a UPS, if it is the type that runs through the charger/battery/inverter all the time (some bypass them while AC is available and switch over when AC is lost - details should be in the specs).

Something like this would do the trick.

Model #: LC1200
Premium automatic voltage regulation (AVR), power conditioning and AC surge suppression
Maintains regulated 120V nominal output over an input range of 89 to 147V
1200 watt / 10 amp capacity
4 NEMA 5-15R outlets, 7 foot AC cord
LEDs display incoming voltage range, surge suppression and line fault status
$25,000 Ultimate Lifetime Insurance (USA, Puerto Rico & Canada only)
MSRP: $172.00
