Do you have any information about how a typical UPS handles "dirty" power, as from a cheap/older generator? I haven't looked at their input designs, but it would be a shame to blow up one power device with another. I think a good filter/conditioner would be more than worthwhile if one plans to run any electronic device from a generator.
