I do feel much better, thanks.

Lindy, first, let’s set why we went in aside for the moment.

Though I will say, again, that every Intelligence Service on the planet was convinced Iraq had a viable BioChem weapons program and was very willing to use it. The Russians believed it, the Chinese believed it, the French, and so on. I’m still out on whether we were deliberately lied to, or someone was badly mistaken. I know Intel can be used to support damn near any position someone in power wants. So, spare us the finger pointing and let’s talk about how we can get out without ending up on the receiving end of something far worse than Sep 11 2001.

We’re past Bush, we’re past the Politics, now we’re stuck in the tar pit and we have got to figure out how to get out without serious backwash. There’ll be time to look at the reasons ETC later, right now we have to find a viable option to end our involvement.

Simply pointing at Bush & Co and shrieking like pod people will not solve the problem. In fact, it exacerbates the problem, confusing what few allies we have, offering encouragement to our enemies.

Bush is finished, his policies are finished, Rummie’s gone. Far too late, but we’re now left with how to extricate ourselves with the least amount of damage to ourselves and the suffering Iraqi population.
