And I wouldn't rule anyone in yet, either.
Sam Brownback announced today... I went to his exploratory committee's website last week, out of curiosity. Waaaay too much invocation of God for my personal taste, especially coming from someone who seeks to preside over a secular nation. Or does he? Maybe his unabashed preaching is clear indication of a desire to see this country much less secular.
Mitt Romney appears to be (if he announces) Brownback's major competition, as he is now seemingly pandering to the anti-gay vote.
McCain lost me a couple of years ago. Do I need to explain why?
No idea who else on the GOP side might be contemplating a run...
As for the party I ordinarily support: I weighed in here last fall with the opinion that Obama is too green. He is the best speaker I've heard at a DNC since Barbara Jordan died...
And, pardon the pun, the name Clinton still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The rest, whether announced or still "exploring"? They already carry the faint odor of "also ran".
But, basically, it's too early. Ask us again in September.
