Because Chavez is a manipulator and a Commie, if he stumbles across something true that he can throw out to embarrass the US, it can't be trusted even if it totally fits our past history and the propensity of our leaders? That's quite a stretch of logic.

I don't believe we're messing around in Venezuela because Chavez says so. I believe it because Bush and Co. says we're not.
