Socialist vs. right-wing
Every major society in the past century that has routinely murdered hundreds of thousands of its own citizens has called itself "socialist." You can take that however you like.
The crimes of communist regimes dwarf those of the thugs who have run banana republics, which does not excuse the latter, but you can take that however you like, too.
Academics get paid pretty good. Damn few of the Marxists on American campuses are missing a lot of meals. Ever notice how many leftists in academia or our cultural centers are rich? I won't comment on your cartoon views of business and productive enterprises.
You can imagine the CIA is doing whatever you like. Some people here almost make a career out of it.
