At 30 something you have passion about many things. I understand what you are trying to tell me.

There was a time, I too, had passion about many things...or so I thought it was passion. Now I am not so sure. I feel I was being self-righteous, and judgmental.

In the scheme of things...is this ANY different than say, the thalidomide catastrophe back in the 60's? People believed the medical world to be god...and they followed blindly...

I just don't see how a few that CHOOSE to march to a different beat, can be harmful. There will ALWAYS be this kind of off center thinking. Appalachian mountain people eat dirt..have for years. Religious snake charmers, fad diets, gastric by pass, people going to Mexico for plastic surgery..with DRASTIC, sometimes life threatening results, anorexia, bulimia...people who obsessively wash their hands 100s' of times a day...OMG., RL..the list is ENDLESS!!!!

My point is:

Some people will always exhibit bizarreness...but they are so the minority....not even a blip on the radar. Yes they will hurt a few...and that sucks....But what it is, is INEVITABLE...I will bet my next paycheck, that you will probably not come in contact with these people...and your life will continue...unchanged unless you choose to change it

At 52, I am choosing my battles very carefully. I pick the ones where I know I can make a difference. ..and on many, many occasions, I probably don't make a difference...BUT it boils down to one thing.. I do what I have to do to live with myself according to my moral code. I just don't sweat the small stuff...besides....what I have created in my reality may really be weird ass to someone else...like putting cream in my diet coke.

Bottomline:

You are never going to change people....you either deal...or don't....
