In this case I don’t think Lee’s disgust is with blacks but whites and anyone else who talks that way. I sensed he wanted to blame blacks for the problem, but he said he blames “the mostly White executives of the entertainment industryâ€, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.
I get his message, but his delivery of that message needs improvement, to say the least. I think many here jumped his butt, based on his reputation, before they listened to what he was trying to say. His approach did not help (Starting off with a variation of the N word) so I don’t blame them (So don’t jump my butt). He brought that on himself.
And there are some things you don’t say in our sociality, IMO, and the N word is one of them. He should know better. I will not defend him on that. There was no need to use that term.
I also will not defend him using R.L.s name after RL has asked that it not be used.
And over all, I think his fear is overblown. I think what he fears is just a fad most kids will outgrow. Let the kids have their fun. Let their English teachers have the headaches and give them bad grades.
My 2 cents
