In the course of a day, if I don't have much else to do, I scan news sources, blogs, political sites, and a lot of other things. Hundreds of individual pages.
You can say what you want about the Republicans. I think I know more about it than you do, and for a lot of the Right, the Republicans have lost the way. Far from being controlled by conservatives, conservatives feel like the party has drifted away from them.
Now look at the Democrats. While individual congressmen and senators--the ones you don't read about in the papers--may be working on things and helping out constituents, collecting donations, dealing with party leaders, and basically trying to bring the bacon home for their district, the front ranks of the party have lost every purpose except the destruction of Bush.
Try and find one thing in recent weeks that has not focused on this. They blew off some quick non-controversial legislation in the first few days, and then settled down to the vendetta. Even Iraq is largely about kicking Bush in the teeth.
The Republicans may have lost their way. The Democrats have gone nuts.
