The collective masses, that we identify as "America" at any given moment are constantly changing. We have a non-stop influx of aliens who are bringing their morals, beliefs and customs with them. The group of progressives that exemplified the Woodrow Wilson theme song are long dead. The folks who were ready to make FDR king are likewise dead or very old and have little input into the social rubric.

The concept of static beliefs in a timeline that never retrogresses is a fallacy - and a dangerous one. The fans of the west in the Middle East who applauded Eisenhower and his Middle East Doctrine of 1957 are also very aged or dead. Their enlightenment was rolled back, their suits and ties and western educations are now buried in a chest or kept as a small memory as they live in today's reality - a fundamentalist nightmare adhering to Islamic law where western thought has been repealed and purged and those enlightened few who had evolved past the eye for an eye and the stoning of women fled or lived out their lives concealing their wisdom from the fundamentalist fanatics and their followers.

The same thing is happening here. The courteous American of yesterday has been displaced by the foul-mouthed American of today. The elegant, aged movie star diva sits in her Beverly Hills mansion, sees the piles of magazines handed to her by her attendant and sees the cover of a shaved Britney Spears and wonders how far western entertainment tastes have dropped.

Yes, the hippie, free-love generation is old. And contrary to your recollection the kids of 1975 were idolizing KISS - not Tiny Tim. The hippies were quickly forgotten by a new generation who wanted nothing to do with flower power or protests. They wanted to rock the night away, go to discos and wear polyester bell-bottoms and spit blood like Gene Simmons. Nixon falling on his sword washed away the left on his river of political blood and folks wanted to forget the whole past ten years of LBJ, Vietnam & Nixon.

And that generation of polyester wearing, disco-goers was already mocked by the early eighties by the next generation who swung back to a fifties crew cut look with thin ties and who listened to "new wave" music, that was basically synthesizer music, and who adored Ronald Reagan and wanted to grow up to be a cooler and taller Alex P. Keaton.

Already we see a group of Americans, descendents of Mexican squatters, granted citizenship who have no love for anything 'American' except American money. And this group is the fasting growing demographic in the US. In another twenty years they will dominate the southwest and be a very sizable presence in the south, northeast and midwest.

That is when the danger point arrives for America as a nation. We will have thrown our heritage away from within to folks who have no love for America but by a failure in our legal system can vote and influence our laws, foreign policy and culture. The Catholic Church will rise in prominence once again and cross related jewelry will be found at a million and one 'dollar' stores across the USA. Mexico will have reclaimed the land we purchased from then and then some, including the original 13 colonies.

America's enemies will find America's strength dissipated. America will not be a superpower - merely a "super Mexico" - corrupt, lawless and a breeding ground for poverty and ignorance.

The progressive movement will be rolled back for a Catholic movement. Birth control will surely be outlawed and abortion centers will close. By 2100 the North American continent will be as corrupt and poverty stricken as the South American continent. Spanish will be the official language in the Americas and Arabic will be the official language in Europe.

Eventually, by 2150, you can expect some clash between the giant Euroislamic Empire and the Spanish American Empire. The Pope will have relocated from Rome to Fort Lauderdale, Florida and will be encouraging his followers in the mother of all holy wars.

The Chinese Empire, including Japan, most of the former USSR and Southeast Asia will wait patiently and then sweep in after the Spanish AMerican - Euroislam empires have both wiped each the other into a state of near collapse.

Yes, the world is not static. All these progressive changes you state the world has accepted will be found to have been written on gossamer paper...
