The conservatives preserve civilization and the liberals are the revolutionaries who bring new things to civilization. If you don't have enough conservatives you have a dead civilization that will destroy itself under revolution. If you have too few liberals you have a stagnant civilization that does not progress very fast and in the extreme become vulnerable to competing civilizations and cultures.

If civilization were a body, the conservatives would be the DNA that reproduces that which came before while liberals would be the parts that pass new data to the DNA to modify it to accomodate new environmental conditions.

So we can see both are necessary for survival, although it becomes apparent that to have conservatives in greater quantity than liberals, will create a longer lasting culture.

When the left is allowed to run rampant it becomes a cancer on the body. A good example would be this little news item where we see the ACLU standing up for non-Americans, against Americans.

The left, due to its inherent unstable nature, receptive to new ideas, easily becomes imbalanced and destructive and when it becomes an infected tissue on the body of civilization, must be treated and/or isolated. Liberals' minds are easy prey for those who want to destroy the body and want to infect likely tissue.

So when the conservative body recognizes it has an infection, it calls upon the white blood cells of western civilization to overpower the infected cells. The body must try to evaluate and determine which revolutions to allow and which ones to stop. It doesn't always discern as well as it should, but it always opts in favor of the preservation of the body.

Nixon was necessary. The left was out of control in the late sixties, drugged out escapists who were destroying not only their lives but were a blight on western civilization and progress. Getting Nixon in was a blessing. He was a conservative and a direct link to Eisenhower and an even stronger conservative symbol. His Presidency helped to stabilize the out-of control left. By 1972 and his sweeping re-election, he had already saved the body from further damage. The drugged out psychedelic era was being shut down.

The hippies lost to Nixon and the other conservative influences and it was a good thing they did. Nixon fell on his sword for the greater good and by the time Ford took over the sixties leftist nightmare had ended.

The Clinton era of sexual immorality and drug increases across the board among school children, got so bad that even children started sexually assaulting other kids in grade school. This immorality as a role model invited the white blood cells again and the Clinton era was shut down by Bush.

Now the body is trying to defend itself from foreign terrorists and invaders. Rome was conquered by foreign squatters who eventually inherited the land and welcomed the invaders.

It will be interesting to see how the self-preservation instinct of the body treats this new congress by 2008. I suspect they will not be too kind to it once they recognize it for what it is - a fifth column for disease and degeneracy within the body. They ousted the GOP congress for not protecting the body from common invaders while fixating on uncommon ones, if this congress doesn't start making mainstream noises pretty soon - it's history.
