If Japan had not attacked us, and the United States had not entered WWII with tons of lethal weaponry and scorched-earth tactics in Europe and Japan, aggression would most certainly have worked.
After WWII, it was American military might that kept the Soviets from either absorbing Europe or reducing it to Finlandized clients. For fifty years, the nuclear weapons the Left hated so much deterred Soviet aggression around the world, never mind having over a fifth of our total armed forces stationed in other nations.
If the United States had decided the invasion of Kuwait was none of its business, Kuwait--at the very least--would now be annexed to a nuclear-armed Iraq.
If the United States hadn't armed Afghanistan, it would be a Soviet puppet state today.
If the U.S. had stayed out of Korea, the entire peninsula would be a communist hell.
Without the Vietnam War, the Soviet influence would have moved through SE Asia with little effort.
We kept the Soviets out of Central and South America, no thanks to your side. Ortega can have Nicaragua now. Without potential Soviet air bases, who cares?
With the exception of Japan, and indirectly Germany, in none of these cases was the United States directly attacked, or even directly threatened. Yet we moved out into the world and stuck our noses into the situation. And damn little thanks have we gotten for it.
Aggression would have worked just fine without lethal force preventing it. Aggression would have succeeded without the hated "world policeman." Nobody "negotiated" ends to these wars without the imminent threat or actual use of force.
Frankly, had the United Nations never existed, very little of this would have changed. The U.N. allows delusional people to pretend that the defense of this world is in the hands of someone other than the U.S.
Name one damn war the U.N. has stopped without American bombs. In most cases, the U.N. has been part of the problem, not part of the solution.
