Let me put it this way:
I'm only reacting to what I believe I would want if it were me, or if it were a member of my family.
Bodies are personal things. Some people would prefer to have theirs turned loose or destroyed. I know I wouldn't like to have mine, or the body of any member of my family, transported back like a souvenir unless there were some suspicion of foul play or some research benefit to be derived from close examination of the corpse.
Bowser seems to have the most practical take on this: a group of choices, a set of mission goals that apply to the situation, and take it as the situation presents.
