SDF had already 3 posts on that thread (out of 5 or 6).
There was a sense of urgency and it's not that easy to delete posts one by one compared to removing one thread.
He could have gone on posting in space under that same thread.
Moderators have to use common sense and we have seen perfectly legitimate threads being highjacked midway and then being entirely removed.
