re: Gore

Gore was not born in 2001. People who are aware of his long-term background and behavior have formed a larger picture.

I have pointed out and documented his actual history in areas like airline security, environmental issues, and the war in Iraq. Most people seem to prefer the present-moment snapshot of his image, and why not? It's inspiring to those who need such inspiration.

Like a lot of liberals, Gore left more than a few marbles behind in Florida in 2000. He grew a beard, and spent a lot of time muttering in it. Somewhere along the line he saw the light, or at least an opportunity, and reinvented himself as the Prophet of Gaia, with far too many analogies to a real religion for comfort.

If this is just the usual Democratic marketing ploy, that would be one thing. But I'm wondering if the man isn't actually developing a real messianic worldview. Such a man as president would be actually dangerous, like Ralph Nader would have been. I would take Clinton (either one) over someone like that any day of the week.

Just as an aside, how hard did your child's teacher have to work to dig up a French version of Gore's propaganda film to use as her test example? Think about that for a while.
