Without the US, Germany would have probably won WWII. In that case, the USSR might not have been a threat. But I don't know how you all would have enjoyed being Nazis.
As far as what really happened, you don’t think nuclear arms race and potential for mutual assured destruction using nuclear missiles had any play in keeping the USSR at bay?
