That's a good question and one I've pondered about for a couple of decades now. Jeff Wilson of the ICCRA just released a private updated report to those few investigators who were on site at the Madisonville, TN crop circle site (myself included). His research has lead him into an incredible connection with an ancient Cherokee Indian mound that yielded very similiar results to the circle itself. As soon as the report is publicly released, I'll post it.
As for the connection, he told me what he found over breakfast before we went out to the formation and the hair stood up on my arms. One week of hunting through the Smithsonian archives yielded the back up information he needed.
Indeed, it is stunning and DOES seem to have spiritual implications that the Cherokees recognized and worshipped. What it means to US, right here, right now is another thing. Another mystery. Another enigma.
