"--or a permanent Democratic majority--"

Heck of a thin thread to hang a judgment of non-bias on.

It's a lie anyway. If almost every person in government were a Democrat, Olbermann would be as happy as a pig in mud, and so would most liberals.

For the first two years of the Clinton administration, the House and Senate were both Democratic. A while back I challenged anyone to locate a quote from any leftist or liberal pundit, politician, or person of any public influence at all, who expressed misgivings about this Democratic monopoly on power, or who thought that things would be bad in America if Republicans didn't take back at least one of these branches in the near future.

I'm still waiting on that one. Most hard-core Democrats I knew at the time expressed opinions along the lines of "it's about frigging time we ran the whole show." Visions of socialist sugar plums danced in their heads.

If a Democrat becomes President in 2008, and the Democrats tighten their hold on both houses, I won't hold my breath waiting to hear it then, either. Oh, maybe nobody will crow about "permanent majorities," but they will fight tooth and nail in following years to make sure that's the case.
