I'm defending a set of principles on how I want this country run. In areas like national security, economics, level of government, and a number of others, I have tracked the ideas of both major parties, not just for the past 6 years, but for over three decades. In that time, I have almost always found the Republican policies to be superior in these areas. Sometimes, admittedly, by a pathetically small margin (immigration, and a few other things).
And I'm arguing political philosophy and the role of reason in life with people who think Keith Olbermann is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
In 2008 your side will be running an amoral opportunist, a political neophyte, or yet another airhead. Believe it or not, I would still vote for Bush over any of them. Thank God I won't have to.
