Oh, my aching head.

The press is also filled with feel-good stories of GIs doing good works and public service in the war zone.

Find me two such "feel-good" stories about GIs doing good works in Iraq in the mainstream press. Or one. I'll wait. And small town local papers don't count.

I can find plenty of military news releases on that subject, so that isn't the problem.

You already have conceded it's not a deliberate conspiracy, that it's some kind of vague mutually held cultural bias inherent to journalists and intellectuals. If this is so, why should it be so? Does going to college and getting a journalism degree make you a lefty? Or are lefties more likely to get degrees in journalism? Or is it just that they're not rightie enough for you?

That the mainstream media output is strongly liberal is beyond argument. There are a number of polls of news people showing their political leanings. I've discussed the reasons--non-conspiracy reasons--for this before, and don't really want to get into it again.

From a sheer logic standpoint, it should be enough proof that when such a pronouncement is made, it almost always produces the response, "What about Fox News?" The exception that proves the rule.

It doesn't matter to me personally--I have a wide range of sources. Nor do I think any action is needed to "balance" things. There are more than enough alternatives now. In fact only one party right now is trying to shut down alternatives to the mainstream media, and it isn't the Republicans.
