Setting the record straight

Well, Tom and SDAI have successfully used this thread to paint Michael Moore as a complete fabricator of truth and it's time to set the record straight on that allegation. This movie supposedly finds a few areas where Moore may have exaggerated the truth or "staged" incidents to push his side of the story but anyone that's seen any of his films knows that is not the overwhelming case throughout the movies. In most cases he simply exposes video that is already out there and lets the morons make fools of themselves with their own arrogance.

If he treated these filmmakers with disrespect than he deserves THEIR wrath but I won't let others get in some undeserved distortions just because of the advantage of piling on. Here's the bottom line on one movie - Fahrenheit 911. Moore got 99% of it right and he was the first one to do so at a time when the media was falling in line with the crap the administration was doling out. He should get a medal for that. Tom cites websites that dispute much of what he contended but anyone that truly followed the FULL story knows that Moore easily debunked nearly every argument they came up with and recent events have vindicated him almost completely. If he only pushed the story from one side, so what? It was his opinion. A whole lot of folks happened to agree with it.

And just what did he say wrong in Bowling for Columbine? I don't remember in that movie a single error in the historical facts presented. I do remember though the gun nuts completely distorting the message of the movie and trying to convince people he had made an anti-gun film. Most of that angst came from Moore embarrassing Charlton Heston who's arrogance and lack of compassion would've shown through had Moore not uttered a word.

So you two get off your piling on orgasm here. The truth will come out without your distorted input. Tom, your contentions about his getting it wrong are your opinion and that of Karl Rove's army of propagandists nothing more.

I have more to say in the wake of you pushing ER over the edge but this isn't the place for it.
