So you do a couple of their hits. Whenever I get to Phoenix, you can take me to kareoke. LOL
David had a great voice. I met him when he was singing solo in the nightclubs in Toronto. He wrote "Spinning Wheel" for me, and sang it to me when it was finished. Then he got his contract with Blood, Sweat and Tears and made it BIG overnight. He did come back for me and wanted me to join him in the redwoods of California but by then I was involved with another. I wouldn't have done well in that environment either being uprooted from the safety of my friends and family.
Here's a story for you. I actually took the plunge last year and moved up here to the mountains all by myself to a town where I knew no one, starting all over, all alone. I drive up here with my SUV fully loaded to set up my apt. and the first night I plugged in my BOSE radio to see if I could get any local radio stations. I no sooner plug the damn thing in, and tune in a radio station, and guess what's playing?
You guessed it! "Spinning Wheel".
No kidding. Think of the chances of THAT happening!
I think I started laughing or crying, or maybe just popped a beer with a smile on my face, because you know what?
Nothing's changed. That song still applies to me today.
Except I'm still waiting for that "someone who's waiting just for me".
Hasn't happened yet. (Where IS he??)
