I was trying to express two different thought patterns at once
The fact that you couldn't follow them merely proves that humanity is
not ready for contact with superior beings from beyond the stars.
;^)
To sum up:
Native Americans were human too - we need to stop acting like they
were environmental saints as depicted in Dances with Wolves.
As much as I would like to think there are ETI that are better
than us in every way, the reality may be that life sucks all around.
Be that as it may, hiding on this lone planet isn't going to do us
any good and in the end we may be even more of a throwback
compared to the rest of the galaxy as a result.
So we get out there and die trying to become a better species
or we sit here and wait to die.
