What we know as opposed to what we wish.
I believe that Man is so chauvanistic that we think other beings would be interested in our welfare, take us under their wing and nuture us.
With our only reference being how Man treats Man and other species.
Native Americans aren't the only ones who preyed on each other. There are countries right now which are preying on other countries.
It would be wise to assume other civilizations would have their interests paramount rather than ours.
