As if the government would listen
Capitalists in government often own large companies that hire cheap foreign labor. They're motivated to open the door wide open to immigrants, hire them straight off the boat without even interviewing actual citizens who are unemployed.
Feeble minded idealists in government actually think that most of the people in Canada are immigrants, and that Canada is "multicultural" even though people have been here for hundreds of years. So they appoint immigrants to manage the immigration offices and create immigration policy.
Neither of these types of dipwads would ever consider stopping immigration. Voter turnout in the last election was only 53 percent. The government doesn't represent.
