Gorebot?
As an amateur astronomer, I feel anyone who wants to leave lights on all night, ruining the esthetic of the environment for everyone and wasting energy and money under the dubious assumption it will protect THEIR private property is just the opposite. From a purely practical security point of view, bright lights ruin night vision, provide deep shadows ideal for concealment, and create a false sense of security that is ideal for criminal enterprises.
Stupidity, inconsistency, contradiction and hypocrisy are not restricted to any political philosophy, but do seem to be identifying characteristics of ideologues in general.
