So do mine, and they have an in-built IR sensor...
... so, in theory, they only react to a moving WARM object, and only at night due to photocell.
Trouble is, on a night when the hot wind is blowing out of the desert, EVERYTHING is at 30 C+ and thrashing around like crazy, so the lights come on all night, unless I kill them with the mains switch.
And the rest of the time, the cats and possums set them off.
You just can't win. Most days I use the mains switch. I even wake up in the night an turn on my own motion-detector lights because I heard a strange noise, but can't leave them always-on.
Maybe I should move somewhere that has snow and ice 4 months of the years.
Or maybe NOT!
