Any fever that doesn't come down in 48 hrs. is reason enough to go to the doctor immediately; especially if the cough worsens. I'll bet the doc gives your child a shot, to break the fever and then follow up with antibiotics. Nothing worse than the anxiety producing coughs and fever and listening to your baby hacking. I can still hear kids in their strollers in stores that SHOULD be at the doctors.

We had a great pediatrician while my kids were growing up. He was VERY dedicated, and you could reach him day or night. (His own son went on to be an Olympic athlete). Although he passed away a few yeas ago, I ran into him just beforehand and thanked him for his dedication over the years and that my kids were fine and healthy.

Perhaps tonight you'll sleep just as good as your child for a change.
