And although I have nothing but anecdotal evidence to support it, if there is a gene for bigotry, it appears to be predominant in northern Europeans.

That was off the cuff, ER. I'm sure it satisfied the emotional impulse to lash out, but you know if you think about it even for much more than twenty seconds that bigotry and racism are universal.

The Europeans enslaved the "savage" African races, as did the Egyptians, Greeks and Romans before them - based on the assumption they were "inferior" and that their culture, intelligence, etcetera was subpar.

The Caste system in India is a roadmap for the worst forms of bigotry and to even touch an untouchable is to lower your own ranking and purity.

In Asia, the Japanese have long held strong bigotry towards Chinese and other Asian races. They also have often spouted sentiment that the USA's labor problems are due to "shiftless blacks" and this sentiment still prevails.

In Africa slavery still exists and racism is rampant, the masses of various tribes have enslaved other tribes for centuries and still do so as I write this post.

Generally if you go looking for a "bigotry gene" you will find it is universal in mankind.

One of the tendencies of rich cultures has been to enslave other cultures and races for labor. All around the world this is still being done even if the words "slavery" are conveniently omitted. In South America, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.

In the US Northeast the Germans "Krauts" were second class workers among the British settlers, then when the Irish arrived, the Germans moved up a notch and the Irish became the ditch diggers and did the grunge work nobody else wanted to do. They refused to do such work when the Italians arrived in quantity. Soon the Italians were the ditch diggers and the Irish moved up a notch on the labor scale. When the Chinese arrived, the Italians refused to work alongside "chinks" and again the labor scale adjusted. Now we have a President who says without fear of contradiction that the Mexicans are here to do the "work Americans don't want to do" and are our de facto slave labor able to purchased by the dozen for slave labor rates all over the USA.

In Mexico the even poorer Ecuadorans are used and abused, In France, the Algerians and their descendants perform that same role. In Germany the Turkish people are so employed and in the UK the Indian and Middle Eastern peoples and descendants are thus engaged. In Australia various Asian races are used and in Asia there is a distinct pecking order and strong racial bigotry.

No, bigotry is age-old and found all over the Earth in every race and creed.
