Genetic diversity of Humanity will only increase in the coming decades. Genetic engineering is not very hard to do. Anyone with the knowledge, desire, and only fairly advanced medical equipment (which is easily obtainable) can do it. Within 50 years as technology continues to advance, there is going to be an explosion of designer races produced by wealthy individuals, organizations, corporations, and even governments. I predict that by 2050 germline modification of babies will be as common as IVF is today.
