Good comment

The problem with anyone trying to "engineer" better human beings, is that evolution is about species meeting survival requirements that have been all over the map since life began. A good adaptation for one situation may not be the best one for another. Trying to guess what constitutes a "good" trait is almost impossible, and picking one for current conditions and forcing a species into it usually generates problems down the road. People breeding plants are well-aware of this, and the problems of "monoculture."

Even some seemingly bad traits may have hidden virtues. For example, the sickle-cell anemia trait confers resistance to malaria.
